The Origin
Working in the bid hub in 2020, I watched 12 experts locked in a room for three days building a renewal pitch. Expert time—imprisoned on £100m+ deals.
The math was brutal: not enough people to do every account this way. Absolute waste of energy.
We ran a team SWOT + Six Thinking Hats session. The question shifted: Don't optimize the grind. Kill it.
Out of it came GAIN—spreadsheets + Power BI to surface buried gold in 10 minutes instead of 3 days. 80% cycle time drop. Service managers and CTOs ran with it. Renewals became growth vehicles.
On a £200m+ renewal, we surfaced a forgotten security framework the client had requested three years prior. Client froze: "How did you even know that existed?"
Deal done. We knew their business better than they did.
